I think Lean for Life is great! Reviewer: Janine age 33 California 09-27-2004 Yes it is rigorous. But it is so worth it! I was 314# 11 months ago and now am at 150#. I feel healthier than I ever have been in my life. Its a little difficult at first especially if you are as addicted to food as I was... But after a couple of weeks of their plan, I was fine and had significantly reduced cravings. It WORKS. |
I was on Minçavie Reviewer: Isabelle 07-30-2004 I was on Minçavie, which seems to be a french translation of Lean for life.
Minçavie has several principals:
never mix proteins
always eat proteins and fats at mealtimes
pasta, rice and corn are bread substitutes, and substitutes should not be
used more than 3 times a week.
2 breads, 3 fruits, at least 2 vegetables (some rationed), 3 proteins, 6
fats, 2 milks, 1 cereal, 6-8 glasses of water - daily
etc...
Doesn't this sound like Lean For Life? I lost 23 lbs last year before second pregnancy. |
Here's some more specific details on Lean for Life: Reviewer: Mindy 07-15-2004 On "Protein Days" you eat 6 servings of protein with a serving being
something such as 1 egg, 2 oz. fat free cheese, 4 oz. cottage cheese or
3 1/2 oz. chicker. There's more choices but that gives you an idea.
You can have more than this.
You follow the "Protein Day" menu for three days or until you reach
ketosis, whichever comes first. Then for the weight loss phase you get
three meals and three snacks. The three snacks are proteins and again
the book lists protein servings. Breakfast consists of protein and
fruit or grain; lunch is protein, a vegetable, lettuce and fruit; and
dinner is protein, vegetable, lettuce and fruit.
Carb counts are supposed to be in the neighborhood of 50-100 grams per
day.
I'm just starting this plan so am no expert. I'm just giving you the
guidelines from the book.

sounds like Atkins Reviewer: Christian 07-08-2004 My wife is thinking about going to them, but, from their web site, they sound
like Atkins. I have done Atkins successfully in the past (25 lbs), and I just
went on it again to lose some more (another 10). |
Lindora is expensive. Reviewer: Tran 07-01-2004 When you see the commercials on tv it seems like a great weight loss plan. It is, except for on thing. The price. I think one would be better off just buying a weight loss diet book. Or maybe there is something online to follow. |
Investigating It Reviewer: unknown 06-11-2004 I have been doing some checking on this lean 4 life thing, and went to the chat
last night. Seemed a little commercial but real nice folks there that seem
happy with it. They talked about going to "the clinic" which helped some of
them. I remember on NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, there was supposed to be a
segment on it. Also on Good Morning America. Might be interesting.
They said the book is in book stores. I haven't seen it though. |
Get the book! Reviewer: Mindy 03-29-2004 I have the book Lean for Life and really like it. I couldn't find it in
any local bookstores and ordered it from the internet. It's a low-carb
plan that's also low-fat and low-cal. It consists of a 28-day weight
loss phase followed by a couple weeks of weight stabilization. Then
after that you can start back on the weight loss phase if you have more
weight to lose. It sounds like it's not unusual to lose 10 to 20 pounds
during the weight loss phase. |
There are different phases on this diet... Reviewer: Cindy 03-29-2004 I found the toughest to be the 'protein days' part of the diet. the carb counts are suppose to be from 50-100 grams average per day. |

I have tried many diets Reviewer: Enrique 03-20-2004 This is just one of the dozens of diets i have tried in my lifetime. I would rank this diet about #5 on my list. You do lose some weight. But there is no cheating. You need to follow the diet as directed. Depending on what type of person you are this may be the right diet for you. |
