Egg Diet Reviews
Description: There is a diet you can go on and eat as much eggs, meat and fat as you like. Its called the "Egg Diet". This diet is similiar to Atkins Diet where its a high protein, low carb diet. It is essentially the same kind of diet that a diabetic is supposed to be on - more or less.

Eggs have been getting a bum rap regaurding cholesterol

Eggs do not bother my cholesterol at all. In fact, the latest thinking based on new research is that eggs have gotten a total bum rap in those regards.

    My Egg Diet

I've always eaten eggs at will. But even when I weighed 400 pounds, my
cholesterol was only 205. About 3 years ago, I went on Atkins for 9
months, following it very strictly. I was advised to do so by my
doctor, because my bg was out of control and I had high blood pressure
and anxiety.

After only a month of eating mostly eggs, cheese, and meat, my blood
pressure was normal, my bg was normal, and my panic attacks had gone
away. After 3 months, my HgA1c was under 6 and I was feeling great. My
doctor said it was almost like I didn't have diabetes at all. All my
blood tests were normal. After 7 months, my weight was down to 315. (I
had lost several pounds just as a side-effect of the diabetes before I
started the diet).

Then I got complacent. I ate a dessert now and then and noticed that
it did not adversely affect my bg levels. I stopped testing. I started
eating more desserts and starches, which of course, kicked in my carb
cravings again.

Now, I've gained back half the weight I had lost, which was 75 pounds,
and my bg levels average around 180 postprandial, sometimes over 200.
So that's why I decided on the egg diet. I love eggs, and I know they
do not hurt my cholesterol levels.

Eggs are good, but not too much.

eating eggs is not at issue for me but 6 to 8 eggs per day with bacon has
a whole lot of "saturated fat" which has been shown to contribute to many
cancers and CHD. Moderation is key as always. 8 eggs a day x 7 is 56
eggs per week.

I decided to try an egg diet

Trying it for a week might be fine. I know that I'd get plenty sick of eggs
if I did that. I get tired of them if I have them for breakfast three days in
a row.
