DR. PHIL KNOWS WHAT HE\\\'S TALKING ABOUT Reviewer: Anonymous NY 04-01-2005 I have been using the program outlined in Dr. Phil\\\'s book since Jan. 15 2005, and it is now April 1, 2005 and I have already lost 23 pounds. My goal was to lose 65, so now I only have 42 to go. Some people who posted negative comments on this board clearly didn\\\'t read the book and they are just being ignorant. Dr. Phil knows his stuff and his diet can really change your life, so give it a try.freelance writer |
The Fat Guy Reviewer: Kat 07-23-2004 Dr. Phil is fat. Seems he needs to get his own house in
order before telling others how to keep theirs. |
What are the principles of the Dr. Phil Diet? Reviewer: Doug 07-23-2004 He's a psychologist, so he thinks weight problems are
psychological problems. When the only tool you have is
a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. When it comes down to it, systems that completely deal
with the physical aspects (what a dream system!) would
have a high failure rate for lack of addressing the
pychological aspects. Expect his plan to have a high
failure rate for lack of addressing the physical
aspects.
Think of it as half of a plan, to be combined with
your favorite physically oriented one. |
Isn't Dr. Phil a fat guy himself? Reviewer: Craig 07-14-2004 He is an overweight man, how can anyone take weight loss advice from him. Think about it people! |
Off the mark. Reviewer: Michael 07-11-2004 I have watched his show on occasion and find him to be totally off the mark. I don't need him or his book when it comes to losing weight. |
kt4stnospam@csam.net Reviewer: Arnie 06-23-2004 It appears that Dr. Phil's philosophy boils down to acting yourself into a
new way of living. He plainly stated that when we cut down on the foods that
give us problems we must replace it with something else. Any of you that are
familiar with substance abuse treatment methods know that is one of the
first principals of kicking any addiction. |
Another diet plan... Reviewer: JJ 06-23-2004 who doesn't have his/her own diet book now. Eat less or eat right and exercise more ..blah blah blah. Its the same crap everytime. You may not be guaranteed to lose weight and keep it off, but he sure as hell will get rich off of you |
Dr. Phill Reviewer: unknown 06-20-2004 I don't know much about Dr. Phil's diet, but I think the key question
is: How much are you eating? I'm rather skeptical of diets that say
that as long as you eat the right foods you'll lose weight. Weight
loss is pretty much a function of calories eaten and calories burned.
You're on the right track with exercising and drinking water,
certainly. But you need to be eating at a calorie level suitable for
you to lose weight. For a woman of our age, and with the thyroid
condition, it takes fewer calories to maintain your weight than for a
younger woman or a man, and consequently fewer to lose weight. I lost
most of my weight eating 1600 calories a day; now I'm closer to
1400-1500. |
I like the Dr. Phil diet Reviewer: unknown 06-10-2004 I really like the diet cause it satisfies me and I know I'm eating healthy. Dr Phil talks about weight loss resistance but the only thing he says about it is to have your thyroid checked and I've done that and it's at the right level with medication. |
DR. PHIL IS A MONEY GRUBBER! Reviewer: Gman 05-23-2004 Dr. Phil is nothing but a money grubbing whore just like
Atkins...they're trying to cash in on other people's misery...plain
and simple. The two most popular publications...1. Diet Books 2. Cook
Books !!
Do a little more, eat a little less...that freakin' simple ! Too many
want to lose 50 pounds in a month....not healthy and not likely to be
permanent. Anyone who advocates losing more than 2% of your bodyweight
in a month is a quack IMO !! |
I bought the book Reviewer: Dana 05-08-2004 I bought the book, and I watched the show. I agree with everything he
said. I haven't had a chance to read all of the book, I just started
it. But from the TV show I think he is going at it from a different
angle then the *diet* programs. You can change the way you eat
temporarily, but if its not for a lifetime, it ain't gonna work. I am
proof of that. |
Dr. Phil himself is big Reviewer: Montgomery 04-28-2004 I saw Dr. Phil on Larry King Live for a minute. He was touting his diet book. He's so big, I don't know how he has any credibility with anyone about dieting. :) |
Stop listening to Dr. Phil Reviewer: Thelma 04-23-2004 Ladies, stop listening to a man who has NO crediable credentials in
the field of weight loss or diet for that matter. Phil knows the Diet
Industry is a multi billion dollar a year market, and that's why he is
going to try to tap into this for his own bank account. For instance
since I'm in the know about "Dr." Phil, being released this Sept 2003
is his new weight loss book, titled " Ultimate Weight Solution, 7 Keys
to Weight Loss Freedom". Also the good "Dr." is spinning off a line of
vitamins that will be manufactured by Amway and available soon.
Now if I'm not mistaken, Oprah swore by "Dr." Phil, for her own weight
& self internal issues, but to this day Oprah is still overweight, and
has a commitment issue to Stedman. It's really hard to listen and
take advice from a man who himself is overweight, but is going to show
you how easy it is to lose in the first place, you must OWN it. |
The Phill Diet Reviewer: Chris 03-09-2004 I started Dr Phil's diet January of this year. I lost 5 lbs during that month but since then it's been 3 weeks of losing only 1/2 lb total. I did the 2 weeks induction and then have been on the regular weight loss diet since then. I exercize 3 days a week at a Curve's gym and drink lots of water daily. |
