help me find diet workshop website
Reviewer: Fran (fxj0go5@iwon.com)   Clewiston, Florida    01-18-2005
diet workshop is the only diet that has consistently worked for me over the years. I need to find them so that I can get the diet tabs, etc. Does anyone know their website, do they still exist. Thanks for your help.

    My experiences

I lost all the weight I had gained when I had my child almost five years ago before her first birthday. The concept of Diet Workshop is to learn how to eat using the five basic food groups, coping under pressure and during the holidays and social events. You have to eat certain food combinations and weigh and measure everything. They have food you can buy and breakfast bars and such but they are not imperative to lose the weight. I thought this program worked very well for me.

Now, after a car accident three years ago I have not been able to lose weight on a lowfat plan which is why I switched to lowcarb. But if lowfat is what you are looking for I highly recommend their program and the support group you will be a part of is fantastic.

    The Diet Workshop (TDW)
Reviewer: Julie       03-29-2004
I recently joined The Diet Workshop (TDW). I had been
in Weight Watchers about 5 years ago and lost about 40
pounds, but put it back on and more when I was writing
my dissertation and looking for jobs. I really
prefer WW, but TDW is offered for employees at work
and so it's convenient plus I have a local support
system and I'm getting to know more people at the
college.

It's been going pretty well. I've lost 12 1/2 pounds in
9 weeks. I know in my head that slow weight loss is
best, but I'm really impatient and I get frustrated.

TDW is okay. You don't have to buy their food, but they
want you to buy their vitamins and Diet-Tabs (basically
B vitamins and fiber). It's structured very much like
WW with exchanges, although parceled out a little
differently. The leader of my TDW group doesn't seem
as knowledgeable or as good as WW leaders I had, but
I know pretty much what to do.

Since people were telling about other programs, I
thought someone might like to know about TDW.

    Diet Workshop opinion

TDW is okay. They don't make you buy their food,
but they do sell a lot of food. What they do want
you to buy (they say it's an essential part of the
program) are Vitamin/Mineral packs and supplements
they call DietTabs. The DietTabs are little chewable
tablets with B vitamins, some soy protein and some
simple sugars. They are supposed to keep you from
feeling hungry, give you a boost between meals and
keep you from getting constipated. I have some
problem with buying these, but they do seem to help.
I hope to eventually wean myself off of them. The
vitamins are okay since I probably should take some
vitamins anyway.

    Not a very good diet!

Beware, you would be better off just eating right and exercising every other day or so. I am always skeptical of a diet plan that involves 'buying their products' such as vitamins tabs, food, mixes, etc.

    Not a success story
Reviewer: Pete       03-29-2004
Diet Workshop was low carb, low fat, and low calorie. They put women
on 650 calories a day, men 800. When I was fainting at 650, they
upped me to 800. I woke up every night, 2 to 3 hours after falling
asleep, craving sugary snacks, which I never much wanted before the
diet.

This diet is similiar to QWLC
Reviewer: Margarita       03-29-2004
This diet is very similiar to QUICK WEIGHT LOSS CENTERS. QWLC supports low carbs, high protein and doesn't work very well. I would caution anyone before beginning this type of diet. Do some research, ask friends, ask your doctor.

    I failed on this diet
Reviewer: Thanh N.       03-29-2004
I was a failure on this diet. But it turns out I am not the only one. A friend of mine read somewhere that only 8% of its customers reach their
weight-loss goal and maintain it for at least six months. This means 1 in 12
succeed in meeting and
maintaining the preset weight goal. The other 92% fail!"

This was a pretty basic diet for me
Reviewer: Grant       03-26-2004
You just learn how to eat using the basic food groups. I remember going over this in grade school. Follow the diet as it should be followed and you will see results in a couple months.

I lossed some weight on this diet
Reviewer: Juan Carlos       03-25-2004
A few months back i was on this diet for a while. I was able to lose 10 pounds in 2 months. The weight loss wasn't as rapid as i expected and thats the main reason i stopped the diet. My goal is was to lose 100 pounds. If i were to lose 20 every 2 months that would take over a year to lose. I don't know if i could be motivated enough for an entire year. If you don't have patience like me then this isn't your type of diet plan.

I think this diet was a scam.
Reviewer: Oswaldo       03-20-2004
It was just a way to get me to buy their various food items and vitamins which i don't think i needed in order to achieve my weight goal (lose 20 pounds by summertime)
